Twenty-five. Scalp still fully hirsuited, gums fulla teeth, frontal cerebral lobes finally developed, cast-iron digestive system, 100% overnite recovery from stupidity (especially “hold-my-beer” type), 20-20 vision, unlimited self-confidence, immortality, a flat belly, marketable skills, and a low handicap.

Able to leap small obstacles in a single bound, faster than a speeding bartender, and stronger than the slender, doe-eyed, black-haired, somewhat dangerous woman with whom I sleep.

    18. I’d be out of school and I’d promptly quit the smoking I started at 10 to be one of the cool guys.
Then I’d focus on a career in computers – System Management, Oracle Database Administrator, Programmer, and I’d sock as much as I could away in Fidelity or Vanguard mutual funds for retirement keeping enough to have some fun. I’d also buy as much Apple and Amazon stock as I could starting about March 2000. Oh yes.

ED…perfect lyrics from Ooh La La….

“Poor young grandson, there’s nothing I can say
You’ll have to learn, just like me
    And that’s the hardest way
Ooh la la, ooh la la la la, yeah

I wish that I knew what I know now
    When I was younger
I wish that I knew what I know now
    When I was stronger”

100 +. Then I wouldn’t have to see how unpatriotic, stupid. and self-centered we’ve become.

    Mal, we’re already there! 😦

Bocopro; I RARELY hear men speak of their wives like you do..it’s wonderful.
And yes, 25 was everything you say…even for this gal…. No glasses, eat anything, the world’s my oyster, pretty good lookin’!, really good figure, smart, done with college and READY TO MEET THE MAN OF MY DREAMS…………Of whom I met a LOT until I met the RIGHT one when I was 36!!

Kid, ya, Fidelity is where I am today…but it never DAWNED on me as a young gal to SAVE! Or not to SMOKE, because it was SO SEXY! I didn’t smoke much, but I did……can’t help but think some of that’s what’s going on with me now! 😦

    BUnkerville…ME ME ME…..yup….you weren’t alone!

    30. I was at a crossroads in life and might make better choices.

  9. Sparky says:

If I could have the “wisdom”, or at least, the knowledge, I think I have now … 🙂 … perhaps 17, and not because of a youthful appearance or less aches and pains. Only so that I could seek out my current husband earlier and marry him young. My hope would be to not make the same stupid errors in judgement that I have already made, especially before marrying him. I would try harder to find a way to have children, even if it means medical help. Not having any is one of my deepest, most heartrending mistakes. Plus, I would like to have served Christ even longer. But I think the two mistakes go hand-in-hand.

Ed, excellent. IF you don’t get dementia! 🙂

    Baysider…I know what you mean!

Sparky, I am SO sad that you wanted children so badly. I’m blessed that I never did want kids….And I married later…and he had 2 in their late teens when we met…and they’re terrific to me now that we’ve lost my Mr. Z.
I’m sorry for the kids you never had……they’d have been loved and cared for well!
