Response to Emergency

Someone on Facebook commented to my friend who posted this “Doesn’t wash on Snopes”….(SURPRISE!)  I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE for her to produce which one doesn’t ‘wash’…because THEY DO.  ALL of them.   Do YOU see one item that hasn’t a lot of truth in it?   Snopes says you’re wrong 🙂 Snopes is ‘a hoax’………And people believe it.   Z

Snopes is basically controlled by an ad agency ( and makes revenue by posting controversial and often sensational analyses of hot-button items on its website to attract millions of viewers for the agency’s adverts.

Much like a tabloid, it goes for the gullible, the lazy, the conspiracy-minded audience in a sort of “it ain’t necessarily so” hold-your-horses debunk of anything that will go viral so it can capitalize on the gossip traffic, the supermarket checkout stand rag of internet integrity.

It all started with a husband and wife team who now are fighting like two alleycats in a “what an icehole!” divorce. Apparently David Mikkelsen spent around a hundred thousand of the pair’s money on himself and hookers, and the Mrs. wasn’t particularly thrilled by that.

So today what we have is a bunch of untrained, unsupervised, unqualified hired gunslingers they’ve put on staff to attack and dismantle stuff they see on the internet that they can attack with impunity.

The “fact checkers” hired by Snopes Inc. pay no attention to journalistic procedures and rarely have the courage to interview authors of articles they go after. In fact, they’re not after facts, only viewers there for the “gotcha” moment. Corroboration and diligence take way too much time and effort.

Showing all sides of a story is not their goal and wouldn’t make them money. Considering who owns the major stake in the company, it’s very likely that conflicts of interest and personal opinion are on the agenda more often than journalistic integrity. In the finest tradition of Charles Foster Kane, their motto is “You provide the conjecture, I’ll publish the lecture.”

Snopes doesn’t always get it wrong. My deeply liberal (probably ex-friend now because of our recent conversations, from her side, not mine) said that Fox news was an entertainment channel. I proved to her from her own beloved Snopes that wasn’t true.

Did Fox News Change Its Accreditation from ‘News’ to … › Fact Checks › Media Matters
Claim: Fox News changed its accreditation from “news” to “entertainment.”
    Fact check by Snopes: False

She had to apologize begrugdingly.. I also had to tell her after all the interchange that I was sorry to tell her she was walking in darkness, that until she was born again according to John 3:3, she would continue to do so. She sarcastically said, “I am so happy for you that you have found the light. Thanks for praying for me in my darkness.” She provided for me the perfect opportunity to which she had no response: Jesus said in John 8:32; “I am the light of the world; whoever follows Me, shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.”

Nope. You’re 100% correct. I appreciated Boco’s comments about SNOPES because one of my wife’s relatives and wife are liberals (they live in Oregon, natch!) and she is always using Snopes to debunk most of the stuff I’d send so I’m going to clue her in. When she would quote Snopes, I use to always remember Festus, the illiterate character on Gunsmoke, who was read something from a book, then said “How do ya know the person that wrote the readin’, wrote the readin’ right?

I might add a couple to the mix, a bit long winded:
Keep academia shut down so students (mostly white)along with the non-working (every color and creed) are at the ready to protest, loot, burn, destroy, injure.

Reasons why not to engage in conversation with lefty loonies:

Actually, JEAN, Snopes almost always gets it wrong. And, when they can’t admit a leftwinger did wrong, or a leftwing idea doesn’t wash (like the list I posted), you don’t get TRUE, you get UNPROVEN. 🙂 They will NEVER ADMIT a leftwinger is wrong.
Too bad your friend won’t wake up to TRUTH…all of the TRUTH.

BOCOPRO, you’re right….A married couple in the San Fernando Valley, just over the hill from me (and Jean here!) creepy folks who really got going only because they’re so left.
“In the finest tradition of Charles Foster Kane, their motto is “You provide the conjecture, I’ll publish the lecture.”” Perfect…..

pETER…Those are a fabulous bunch of good reasons to not argue with a fool…I think Bari Weiss (see link just above) understood she was with fools at the NY Slimes.

From a friend from TX “My niece says that tents are now set up in TX for potential patients
although hospital staff say there is no need because there are no covid patients in
the hospital. (She is a pharmacy tech.) But I hear they are sending Mexican patients
    to CA & TX hospitals”
NO COVID PATIENTS, but setting up tents.

Mexican patients coming to AMerica? WOWZIR. What BS. SOmething is SO UP and this is all to make Trump look horrid.

By the way, Biden just talked about having ALL FEDERAL CARS ELECTRIC!
I am hoping my very liberal friend was listening because he has an electric car and hates it, and says it’s saved him no money and is a bad IDEA 🙂

No internet slowdown at work or at home for me. Unfortunately, it’s a big subject and in no particular order:
    – website(s) you’re visiting might be running slower
    – Are you Wifi ? Regardless, there could be more traffic in your area at the times of day you notice slowdown
    – I assume the computer is always in the same place so that would rule out Wifi interference inside your home
    – If Wifi, could be outsiders are finding a way to use your Wifi router – I recently saw 2 bogie devices using my password protectred Wifi and blocked them.
    – Do you have a neighbor you can cehck with to see if they are experiencing a slowdown

    – Gov Newsom is running around your neighborhood cutting cables smiling and rubbing his slimey little paws together between houses.

    – All esle fails, contact your ISP and report the slowdown.

KID, I THINK I’m on WiFi…what do I KNOW? My little black box (modem?) has Wifi numbers on it 🙂 I’ll ask my neighbors…. THank you for all the advice…good stuff!!

I Googled that German study and it looks like it’s been debunked pretty hard…

  14. kidme37 says:

It’s been debunked by climate crazies Z. I triple guarantee it.

  15. geeez2014 says:

Kid, I hope so… on the other hand, if the climate crazies are LOUDER (getting more media), people think they’re right 😦

OH, SHIT. (oops)….my post subject for tomorrow, which I HAD JUST WRITTEN, has been stolen by Brian Kilmeade as he stands in for Tucker …….
Oh, well. My producer is better than his (Smile)
My hubby used to say “Look! FOX is covering what you said last week!” a lot….pleased him. THRILLED me 🙂

  21. kidme37 says:

Well, everyone speak for themself, but I’m not led around by anyone. I start everything assuming it’s a lie and if interested research it on that basis. Right about 19 I found out most of everything they taught us in school was either false or worthless. My real education began at that point.

It’s a real stumper for me to see people continue to follow people who lie to them constantly, friend or media critter or anyone.

I look forward to tomorrow’s post then.

KID…WHITE POWER, huh? We should have seen that coming….

And now, Kid, the new DNC meme is “If Trump loses, will he leave without trouble?” Biden AND ‘the Beast” said that today (notice, out of respect for you I did NOT use ‘her’ name!)

Yup…WILL HE LEAVE? They are trying EVERYTHING.

SOmething fascinating, though, was brought up by Brian Kilmeade…how some thing that mail-in ballots could HELP Trump… Maybe the lefties realize their people are lazy and won’t vote in person and Trump folks will do ANYTHING THEY CAN? Fingers crossed.

Ya, and Kilmeade even mentioned some points I wrote…SO TICKED ME OFF 😦 But I think you’ll like tomorrow’s post 🙂

  24. kidme37 says:

I Appreciate you not typing the beast’s first name. I cringe every time I see it. Last name is no problem. We know which clinton we’re talking about at this point eh.

Well, what this talk of Trump possibly not leaving office peaceably tells me is that they are planning for Ooodles of voter fraud. So much so that any reasonable person would say, hey wait a minute here. Mail in ballots and other fradulent schemes they are planning and doing in some cases are a hell of a lot more serious than ‘pregnant’ chads in Florida between Bush and Gore….

SC had to get involved in that one. I can see this fraud being thousands of times worse.

Kilmeade is out of his mind if he said that.

Kilmeade is also upset that the NFL, NBA and MLB may not get off the ground (pun intended-get it?) He says we need them to play to show all is well in the koo koo nest.(my words not his) Damn conservatives are so hard to figure out…
