Hey there, Z!
What crazy (criminally insane is the better term) times we’re living in.
I’m sure, like me and tens of millions of others, it’s a challenge to get your spirits up every day, because we know the leftists are going to roar like hungry zombies across our beautiful republic and not only erase the gains of the last four years, but do some serious damage to America’s future.
But I keep reminding myself of a few things…
1)Prayer is powerful. And we must pray. God’s people have had it very easy in America for a long time, and we are not the praying people we were. So if this moves us to get on our knees more purposefully and more often, good.
2) I weep for America, but preserving the republic is not our mission. Reaching souls for Jesus is our mission. So I’m trying to keep that in front of me, and be more intentional about it.
3) America is an anomaly in all of history, throughout the world. It was a convergence of many things and born of blood and pain. But it was always a fragile construct, as people’s hearts are full of all kinds of bad stuff. That we survived this long is kind of miraculous. I don’t know that Earth will ever see a nation like America, at its best, again, before Christ sets up His kingdom.
4) Maybe it’s our turn to suffer – and scripture says this is an honor, a privilege, to suffer for His sake. So sure, we’ll do what we can to try to preserve the nation, but these days are so fleeting, so if Satan unleashes his hordes of slavering agents through whatever willing people are out there, then we will stand, and speak courageously in Jesus name, love them in spite of their spite, and love one another. And in between, we will try to squeeze joy out of the small moments and any victories, cultivate ready hearts of gratitude and worship our King in all things.
Love you and miss you. Hope you are holding up okay. I am weeping for our nation with you, but rejoicing in what seems a current of revival among a remnant. For other believers – I fear they’re falling into delusion, and quickly. But even this, scripture said would happen. Maybe we ARE in the last days. Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Maybe it’s our turn to suffer —- nope… Too many people have used this as an excuse to accept that status quo regarding governments. There is nothing noble about suffering and this is where I and those who profess this as a tenet of Christianity loose me.

BOCOPRO…good stuff. And BUNKERVILLE… Ya, it does say in several places our lives will not be easy; it’s actually promised and I know that’s difficult to grasp, believe me. Plenty noble about suffering but I stopped getting into scripture too much at my Sunday Faith Post about 15 years ago. Anyway, it’s not a fun concept, and my friend who wrote this is right…..But nothing is guaranteed.

What a fantastic time to include this quote from an email from my German friend this morning on the subject of American politics:

A friend pointed out to me that Lincoln’s Second Inaugural speaks of : ” and until every drop of
blood drawn with the lash, shall be paid by another drawn by the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said “the judgments of the Lord, are true and righteous altogether.””
Perhaps every baby slain in the womb must similarly be avenged, unless this nation finally comes top a place of repentance.
Yesterday, I had Mustang on my radio show.
After the show, a guy knocks at my door and he wants to talk.
He figured out where I lived and drove over.
He was really concerned about the state of the nation.
He’s a small business owner.
As I was talking to him, he said “How will we communicate with each other when the government cracks down and even pulls you off the air?”.
My wife asked if he was a Christian and he had the sense not to pretend he was, but he was “spiritual”.
I told him he needs to get in the fight. To enter this fray and not be a member of the Body of Christ is to go in without comms and weapons.
The Holy Spirit is comms and moves each of us into position.
I decided this will be the subject of my next show.

We are promised ‘suffering.’ The world is NOT our friend. It will find ways to frustrate and impede Christians because it can’t get to our leader. But we are never told to roll over and play dead. So while my phraseology differs from Bunk, my sentiments do not.
WE are the government and responsible for it. Just like Samuel who was a great judge and prophet but he fell down on raising his sons who were worthless, who “turned aside after dishonest gain, took bribes, and perverted justice.” So the people demanded a king, to be like everyone else.
Samuel had the responsibility to do otherwise because he was in a position to do so. So do we. Whatever you think of the swamp – and my view is pretty low – we have the legal and moral authority to press for the right things – but in the right way! – and I believe we will be held responsible if we do not.
The right way? “May the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart, be acceptable to you Lord.”
Lesson from Samuel: the misbehavior of the people of God give people an excuse to do what they want to do anyway, reject God. We have an obligation to not do that.
Lesson from Admiral Jackie Fisher: “Trust God and dread naught.”
So I pray with David: “Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies—make your way straight before me. Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies.” Ps5
Keep drawing men to You, God (John 6:44). As for the others, turn their efforts against them. Let the swords of the wicked pierce their own hearts. Ps37

I had some reaction to your comments from my writer friend but am not publishing them.
I’ve had very unpleasant experiences between commenters regarding scripture disagreements and I started the idea of a Sunday Faith Post to inspire, not turn away non believers. Happily, I’ve had amazing notes from commenters personally saying it has made them stronger believers, which is really thrilling to me…And, other bloggers started doing this, which was even more thrilling to me!..What was horrible was my Christian commenters fighting with each other in front of nonbelievers and I had to invite people not to come back who’d been here for years! So, since my friend did mention lots of supportive scripture for his point of view, it’s staying unpublished.
Anyway, I thought his words in the post were really worth reading….And he did enjoy reading you all…

Z, I guess thats why there are so many different beliefs, even among Christians. It’s sad anyone would fight another’s belief. And sadder still that it could actually turn off non-believers, driving them even further away believing they were justified in their reasoning.

MAL…definitely different interpretations….I’m glad I’ve always been in SOLID churches all of whose beliefs jived with the other……..You have to go pretty ‘off’ to truly have different beliefs, but that does exist.
