As you know, I’m usually far more verbose than this but I can’t think of anything to say here but

Well . . . in a true democracy, or a republic in late-stage decline, ignorant misinformed voters generally wind up with the government they deserve.

Regardless of who first said this (it wasn’t Jefferson, BTW), any government with the power to give its citizens all they want is powerful enough to take away everything they have.

  2. bocopro says:

Oh . . . ‘nuther factor in the Decline and Fall of Murka —

Though I am not a religious person, I still believe this is one of the darts rupturing the pericardium of this nation:

  3. peter3nj says:

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.” This quote is attributed to Jefferson by some but it reads so today. Meanwhile unbridled welfare for the rabble was a contributing factor in the fall of the Roman Empire. The more things change the more they stay the same.

  4. bocopro says:

Ah, yes . . . the Curse of the Gracci Bros — haunting us still today.

  5. kidme37 says:

Any justice that occurs in America – at the hands of the feds – is purely at random and likely not for the right reasons.

Banana country. We’ve been in it a while.

  6. kidme37 says:

Clintons bought the FBI in the early 90’s. Clinton’s essentially dismantled the Intel agencies using Jamie Gorelick, resulting in the ease at which 9-11 was perpetrated. James Comey destroying the beast’s physical evidence of her crimes. Why would anyone destroy physical evidence for any reason.

Not even the tip of the iceberg.

We don’t have a country. The FBI is totally corrupt and anti-American as are most of the rest of the federal government. Yeehaw.

Day-O Day-O Daylight come and me want go home. Hey tally man tally da bananas…

  8. Mustang says:

There are probably very few “better examples” of totalitarianism in the “land of the free.” The DOJ ‘splains it like this: it’s all part of the war on drugs and terror. Well, no matter. Isn’t it in the nature of the US government to do what the hell it wants? Constitution? We don’t need no stinking constitution.

BOCOPRO…I think that cartoon is one of the best I’ve seen…….Absolutely amazing and so true.
If we did a graph of dates plotted to show when our culture’s gone down in myriad ways and did a graph in the dates people started turning from faith…..I reckon that line created on the graphs would be identical…………….

PETER….you crack me up……………..I so get your lyrics…good one.
And your quote about democracy scares me to death…here we are.

KID…Jamie Gorelick, hadn’t thought of THAT name for a while….Good comment. The FBI is a MESS and the NY Times seems to be in charge of IT, too. sickening and beyond dangerous.

I think I’ve posted here before that I was horrified, about 25 years ago, maybe longer, to hear an ex FBI bigwig say they can simple get no more recruits who pass tests asking if they’ve stolen, done drugs, etc…..they’ve all done things NO FBI recruit could have done and got in in the past….and They don’t teach our country’s WORTH protection in our universities so why would anyone bother.?

  10. geeez2014 says:

MUSTANG… It does seem to be the ‘nature’ to do what it wants….but yes, it sure isn’t constitutional!
THis story just blew my mind…I guess we know things are going bad…but THIS?

THank GOD those affected are suing with good lawyers……….this could get to be QUITE a story, one which will really show a light on our Feds if it goes as we hope it does……..let’s HOPE and PRAY.

  11. heidianne says:

This is tyranny. This is what the second amendment was made for. Too few are willing to fight against it in any meaningful way.

  12. Mustang says:

@ Heidianne … there is no question that our country … the one we were born in … is gone. Poof. Dead on arrival. The corruption is so pervasive that it far exceeds any second amendment solutions. How pervasive is the corruption (intentional or otherwise)? Let’s take an easy example. Who appointed Freeh, Mueller, Comey, and Wray to head the FBI? Who created the FISA Courts in 1978? Who among us knew “back then” what we know (or think we know) now? Your answers to the foregoing should suggest that (a) the US government is constitutionally corrupt beyond anyone’s wildest imaginings, and (b) there is nothing we can do about it. The Constitutional Republic no longer exists.

This is why we send the Institute for Justice a big, fat check every year. Federal and local authorities have connived for years to steal assets lawfully earned and owned by others through the illegal application of aggressive asset forfeiture laws originally designed to “put drug dealers out of business.” How’s that workin’ out?

    Here’s how:
I rent a garage from you, but you were just busted for drug dealing. The sheriff seized your assets and included my car. It’s been rusting in the impound lot for 4 years while I supply repeated proof of my declarations that I am a tenant and wholely unrelated to your drug business. I’ve been taking the bus to work ever since. Yes. There are REAL cases like this the IJ steps in to.

“They don’t teach … ” Great point! The average moves. We see it in congress, in business (where one’s word is no longer one’s bond), in education. And probably in the military too I seem to recall Mustang talking about that some time ago.

Feast your eyes on this example of debauchery. The only word that comes to mind is “disgusting.”

  16. Mustang says:

Sorry Baysider, the link didn’t take. Here it is:

Yup…we’re having drag queen shows and designing pregnancy flight suits for female fliers….meanwhile, China’s preparing a military which can spit on us. And will. They must laugh their butts off at us.

  18. Baysider says:

Interesting, Mustang. Nice that they want to be reflective and inclusive of the American people. Which ones? Where are the MAGA hats?

In the book on Escape from Colditz, the high risk allied POW’s held in this WW2 internment castle put on shows, with many guys in drag. A spoof. It was also an escape cover. They could only field men. The pictures were charming. A complete 180 degree world away from your link.
