And I had HIGH HOPES….what was I THINKING?

“Bring Back Better” was Biden’s ridiculous motto…….of course, Make America Great Again is just mocked but, when you read those four words  you should wwonder what kind of people don’t want a greater America…at least I do.

But now, I think  Sen. Marsha Blackburn is right…….Manchin CAVING in to Schumer is BRING BACK BROKE.   MANCHIN CAVED and, stupidly, I had had high hopes for him.

ANY caving into Schumer can ONLY MEAN TROUBLE.

Does one such as myself get a pat on the back for maintaining all along that Manchuria was/is a fake phony fraud all along? He played the right like a cheap violin. In spite of this POS screwing his constituents he has no reason to fear for his seat in the Senate since they are as naive and stupid as they’ve always been. Remember W.Va coal miners voted for Obama twice after he vowed to put the coal industry out of business costing tens of thousands of jobs in the state. The list of greatest lies continues to grow: the check is in the mail, black is beautiful, I won’t put it all the way in and Manchin is principled. And for all those believing the republicans will take back the Senate this November, don’t hold you’re breath.

I would keep my eye on the so called “savings” on prescription drugs. A good way to limit access to what is available. A good way to bump off seniors… a good way to limit development of new drugs. Obama made a major push for this back in the day on this and I expect the same with this little number.

It is clear we cannot trust Congress either the House or Senate. They should have removed Brain Dead Biden by now via the 25th and the impeach Biden’s Admin for the destruction of the country no matter what party they belong to. So look at the people you are sending to Congress and if they have not tried to remove these people do not vote for them no matter the party as they are part of the UNIPARTY and do not care about the people or the USA.

Peter is right, as usual. Hello, America — Manchin is a Democrat. Who didn’t know that? We must be like the little pig who built his house of straw … nothing is going on upstairs. Thinking there is any hope for anyone in the Democratic Party is worse than stupid — it is as pathetically stupid as voting for Biden (no one will ever know) because Trump is a mean tweeter. This is why I argue that there is no hope for America … and why I think we Americans are about to get everything we deserve.

Manchin’s leverage runs out in January… so you KNOW he’s going to use it. They ALL do.

OUCH! I should have left the part of my “HIGH HOPES” off my post!! …..But I DID and we all should have hope. Give up hope, you’ve got NOTHING …and we still do have plenty.
The only really good thing is Manchin got the amount reduced by a TON of money…. But not ENOUGH.

BUNKERVILLE…and that part of the drug plan is ALL about the Midterms….particularly among senior citizens “Oh, boy! Less money for drugs….good ol’ Democrats!”
And yes, lower profit for drugs means less innovation. On the other hand, even we Conservatives slam BIG PHARMA a lot, so …

PETER…We MUST get November but it’s looking less positive…

Except we won 10-0 in the Congressional baseball game 🙂
Did you all see that a Democrat awful female “player’ ran by the Republican dugout and flipped them the finger? And I think it was Sen Gillibrand who said the other day :”THIS IS BULLSHIT” into her microphone. Lots of class among women on the Hill….LOTS of class. Swine.

FJ…he couldn’t have pleased his own state… Has he said he’s not running again? They screwed coal in this fiasco bill.

    I wish that I felt that way. I don’t.

If we lose the midterms — or even win by a too-thin margin — our republic is doomed.

I’m glad that I don’t have children or grandchildren. The future could well be bleak for them.

TAIWAN having air raid drills, presumably because of Pelosi’s possible trip………

I can imagine CHinese cities doing that as yet another demonstration that the CCP means business when they tell us Pelosi had better not go to Taiwan (legit or just more scare mongering for us), but these drills mean Taiwan, at least, is believing China’s threats.

Should we? I’d never want to give in to CHina. Over ANYTHING.

  9. geeez2014 says:

BY THE WAY: Jean-Pierre says it’s “WRONG” and ‘SHAMEFUL” for the Republicans to “USE IMMIGRANTS” by busing them to D.C., etc.

Is it up to a Press Secretary to JUDGE Republicans? AND, by the way, How’s she think the ‘migrants’ got here if the borders are “CLOSED,” as she keeps reminding stupid Americans?

  10. kidme37 says:

We already gave in to China. They did a biological attack on the USA (and the world) and no one lifted a finger let alone a tongue except for Trump who has all out war called out on him.

  11. geeez2014 says:

KID…GREAT point…..And, supposedly, in the two hour phone conversation Biden had with XI yesterday, he didn’t bring COVID up………and CHina’s already saying Biden’s lying in saying he brought up human rights.
What they were probably talking about is how Hunter can escape the law in his dealings with China.
“Lie for me, MAN, pleeease? It’s my only son after Beau died…!”

I believe NONE of the nightmare we’re facing today would be happening with Trump in charge…..

Obamacare: If you like your medications you might not be able to keep them
    December 10, 2013 — bunkerville

Rationing is the deal… some clips for old time sake.
Forget the expensive cancer drugs. The death panel will decide who and what drugs will be available. Yesterday’s post has a link to how the death panel will decide who lives who dies. One criteria is by lottery. Is that how we want our lives to end?

I noticed that he took full ownership of death panels yesterday. Naturally, Obama did not call them death panels. He called them “an independent commission of doctors, nurses, medical experts and consumers.” But his description hits dead on with what his death panels will do.

According to Barack Obama yesterday, the death panels “will look at all the evidence and recommend the best ways to reduce unnecessary spending while protecting access to the services seniors need.”

Steven Rattner advocated that such rationing should target elderly patients, while stating, “We need death panels.”

He wrote: “No one wants to lose an aging parent. And with price out of the equation, it’s natural for patients and their families to try every treatment, regardless of expense or efficacy. But that imposes an enormous societal cost that few other nations have been willing to bear. Many countries whose health care systems are regularly extolled – including Canada, Australia and New Zealand – have systems for rationing care.”

“We may shrink from such stomach-wrenching choices, but they are inescapable.”

  13. geeez2014 says:

BUNKERVILLE! If you could HEAR the nauseating treatment a friend’s dying dad got in a Melbourne hospital when he was dying of brain cancer (and other things)….She is on a rampage now writing to the bigwigs, and actually getting some attention for her endeavors……..
She kept texting me from Australia that the hospital admin were really just saying “…he’s in bad shape…you should just let him go…” Only slightly more subtle than that!

Honestly, I think Australian Medicine met their match with my friend….SHe’s EXTREMELY driven, VERY articulate (if not a bit wordy), and will be back in the States on Aug 3 so I’ll be eager to hear what’s going on…

YOu’re right…i. They ARE rationing at least in Australia…..

“Stomach-wrenching choices are inescapable”? LIke letting old Dad die because he’s taking up a bed? WOW

BUNK: BY the way, that was after she had to fly back to Melbourne from L.A. at the last minute, costing her $14,000 for a ONE WAY TICKET and charging her more for WiFi! THen she got to Sydney and had to pay for 3 weeks (I think it was 3 weeks) in a hotel THEY picked for the whole plane load (you get no choice)….all the while fearing her Dad would die before she saw him again…… THankfully, she finally got to Melbourne and he lingered another 2 months or so.

Well, one would like to have been a fly on the wall to know what was promised – or threatened. We’ll know some of it eventually, but yes extremely disappointing.

AOW I think the Republic is already doomed. Trump was a speed bump in the road to serfdom.

2028 has been the year to watch for Medicare insolvency since 2008. That’s been moved up to 2026 in the latest trustees report (2020). In the face of that our ‘leaders’ have a) called for a higher age for medicare eligibility, or b) lowering it to 60, or 55. If you guessed “B” you are correct! Biden is pushing for 60. Sanders for 55. And of course a whole box of lunatics are pushing it for all. “Europe does it” – yes. But we have carried the lion’s share of defense costs since WW2 that leaves all those other countries free to spend more on non-defense things. Ka-ching!

Social security is out in 2034.

It would be in the interest of a lot of people to have substantially lower payouts in these. I believe the events of the last 18 months have helped further that goal. The other option: a major war that leads to a new Bretton Woods to reorganize currencies. That includes the value of YOUR savings.

  18. MAL says:

Right after the election in 2020 the mantra was “wait till 2022” and all I could think of was the huge amount of damage they could do in the meantime. If there is any hope left for us, we MUST make certain re: the integrity of the election. Simply expecting a Red Wave is not enough. To make sure we need to question everything they do. Our very existence depends on it.

  19. Mustang says:

    * Social Security is out in 2034 — now let the lawsuits begin. Of course, most socialists do not imagine that whatever the government “gifts” it can take away. The sticking point, apparently, is in the word “entitlement.” But, but, but, I’m entitled!!! Correction (sir or madam), you WERE entitled, now you aren’t. Thank you for calling the Social Security Hotline. Have a nice day. Click.

  20. geeez2014 says:

BAYSIDER, a very UNRepublican thing is what I have been pushing for: Nobody who makes over a certain amount gets Social Security), yes, it’s not really fair, yes yes yes…… The very idea that my own uncle gets S.S. is outrageous…he does NOT NEED IT. You and I know a LOT of people who don’t need it to live quite well. I’ve always thought that if I didn’t need it, it would be a pleasure to donate it every month to somewhere I felt worthy Who knows, my uncle is a philanthropist so he DOES give ‘it’ away, but I like the idea.
Would it save everyone? Of course not, but it’s something !

A huge problem is the RED WAVE is getting pinker as drugs get cheaper (probably won’t happen TOO soon, so people won’t really know quite how much they’ll benefit yet), etc etc…
Give them goodies and THE LEFT WINS THE HOUSE AND SENATE…or at least holds the senate in November. He’ll be getting more in the next couple of months. This bill isn’t about helping fix inflation (!), or helping seniors with drug prices, or ANYTHING but WINNING.

MUSTANG: the ONLY thing which doesn’t absolutely SCARE AND HORRIFY ME TO DEATH about SS ending (I don’t think it will) is THE LEFT WON’T GET THEIRS, EITHER! And THEN, you are SO RIGHT…LET THE LAWSUITS BEGIN!

  21. geeez2014 says:

MAL….You are so right……VERY little’s been done to help keep this next election trustworthy….as if Biden’s election didn’t do enough to warrant VERY close attention to FIXING it….
But, as usual, the Left wouldn’t play along and we’d be regarded as people of “THE BIG LIE” if we insisted voting machines get checked, that every home didn’t automatically get mail-in ballots (somethings 10 to a home if there were previous tenants, for example) Etc etc.

  22. MAL says:

Z, and YOU are right re: S/S. I see it as a Ponzi scheme because the way its being handled it isn’t sustainable. It might be if they really policed it (i.e. NO to illegals getting ANY part of it) because many folks die before they get to draw a cent like our daughter did 10 years ago at age 56, or even shortly after they start drawing, leaving the unfunded in the pool.

For social security, they’ve increased the pay-in amounts a LOT. They’ve raised the ceilings repeatedly on the income level required before pay-ins for the year are complete (while dragging feet on other inflation adjustments to taxes like the ridiculous $5 or 600 exemption that stood throughout raging inflationary years). They will at some point resort to means testing, which is what you are calling for Z.

QUESTION: If you are paying into a retirement fund, what is the legal justification for denying you payouts from ‘your’ fund?
ANSWER: None. Unless the payout is from a welfare fund not very cleverly disguised by calling it a retirement fund, and you are determined to be not qualified. So much for Al Gore’s Lock Box.

To add to this, localities here and there (including in LA) are starting up universal income programs on a “test” basis.
    1) Will this be to “test” the financial viability of such a program?
    2) Will it be to “test” the effects on job seeking such a program has?
    3) Will it be to “test” the likelihood of recipients voting for the people who give them free money? Give me a beraaaake! They don’t need to test #3. We know that outcome. The “test” will be to craft narratives to keep public dissent at bay (including the full throttle war practices honed by social media in locking out any dissenting voice during covid), most likely to be led by the reflexive charge of racism against all dissenters.

  24. MAL says:

RIGHT, BAY. Another thing. When it first started, S/S was voluntary and tax deductible, both of which have disappeared.
Like everything else in politics, once they get their foot in the door…………….

  25. MAL says:

One of the biggest mistakes we made was allowing congress to vote themselves raises, take Summer’s off and work whenever they wanted, etc. No one else has that much control over their working conditions. I read recently where the head of one of the Scandinavian countries (Holland?) takes a trolly to work. Public transportation. Why not? Are they any better than those they represent?

  26. MAL says:

Of course, I believe it was a Socialist country!

  27. geeez2014 says:

BAYSIDER, as I said, it’s not FAIR because my uncle and others have paid into S.S….Absolutely not fair in that way… It’s an idea, I laugh at the very wealthy even getting S.S, honestly…..S.S. is there as a safety net for those who couldn’t save as much as they need…which is not far from everyone I know, frankly.

Yes, I’m hearing about universal income programs…..Wait till they start because it’ll be geared originally to ILLEGALS…those with VERY little. Heck, we’re already giving money to illegals, letting their children overcrowd our schools, overcrowding our hospitals……….
This might be JUST what Republicans need to get reelected. NOBODY likes giving money away for nothing….particularly not to noncitizens.

MAL..Also, so many politicians are there for LIFE…Look at BIDEN? He has NO grasp of what it’s like to work for people, own a business, etc.etc.., except the ridiculous claptrap he’s always bringing out about his sainted father who worked in the mines, blah blah……

By the way, that man is SUCH A LIAR even I can’t believe it… And EGOTISTICAL in ways even Trump wasn’t, subtle, ugly, self aggrandizing ways.
At least with Trump, we knew he had an ego and we felt safer for it (nobody’s gonna hurt AMericans under MY watch)… I don’t believe Biden gives a DAMN who hurts ANYBODY…look at the Afghan puill out he destroyed and calls a big success!

  28. MAL says:

Amen again, Z. Biden couldn’t care less about American citizens.

  30. geeez2014 says:

AOW…RIGHT! We’ve all been saying this for months and months but it’s looking truer and truer….

It’s why I’m absolutely 100% positive that if we don’t get a strong Conservative Republican for president next time, even I’ll lose all hope like so many of my poor readers have!!

Americans have lived on HOPE for years and MADE IT and I’m not giving up YET 🙂 I think the Midterms will tell us……..

  31. MAL says:
