I’m curious about your opinion

I saw THIS ARTICLE and wondered how you would feel if you were a 9/11 victim.

I’m not sure if I agree or not…….It’s pretty clear that the little newspaper that carried the story is a Trump-hating bunch and so they felt it important …

THOUGHTS?   What’s your opinion?

(I don’t ‘love’ the whole LIV Saudi-backed golf program, anyway, mostly because I’m a traditionalist and it’s the PGA for me…though I don’t watch golf)

I am an avid golf fan and former player. If this tournament had not been played at a Trump course this probably never would have been written.. at least with the 9/11 perspective… For them, its time to move on as far as LIV.. For LIV.. the intention was to destroy American golf as we know it.
I blame the greedy players… The PGA supported them all through their careers until they became mega millionaires. LIV picks the players who will play.. Where will the new players come from? And be developed with programs?

Hi, Bunkerville…Of course this post is only written because of the 9/11 perspective!!! Why else would I have? The article is about how family members of the 9/11 tragedy resent Trump’s hosting the Arab-owned LIV near them, near NYC.

I agree, as I said at the bottom of my post, it’s all PGA for ME…….

I just didn’t know if anybody here agreed that the selection of NY for the tournament was insensitive…………………. I hope new players will come from the same places they’ve come before….colleges with golf programs, etc.

This had nothing to do with golf, but all about finding something to bash Trump. Our relationship with the Saudi’s has been one of tolerance and understanding. They realize it was American technology that made them an oil rich nation in the first place and despite being a Muslim nation, they’ve always supported the U.S. You can’t control all your citizens beliefs and actions and 9/11 was another example.

  4. MAL says:

From what we’re seeing on the news, Mar-A-Lago invasion was a HUGE mistake…….for the invaders…….’cause all they did was embolden the GOP and I think its great news they did it. My wife said Fox News just reported all the FBI took with them were Melania’s CLOTHES!

  5. MAL says:

the BIG question is…..what do we do about the crooked FBI? Even with a Red Tide in November, or a Republican President 2 years later? This whole mess runs so much deeper than originally suspected……….

I have no position on golf. On the other hand, Trump brokered a deal, the historic Abraham Accords, and a lessor known deal that brought which country I forget back into a key regional association that is considered very important to those in the region.

  7. geeez2014 says:

MAL…agree with ALL you say above. Yes, as I said, it seemed like the Trump-digs were more than the point of the article, but I think the point was an interesting one.

    BAYSIDER…..no position necessary on golf.

I’m SO SORRY my point doesn’t seem to have been understood…….HYPOTHETICAL that will help:

BAYSIDER…and, by the way, I’m with YOU on golf 🙂 Except when it’s some magnificent showing like Tiger’s, etc 🙂

But, I have to admit, like golf or not, I’m not very thrilled about Saudi Arabia buying so many good American golfers 😦

LIv picks them out. How is that fair?

In response to your last post, Z, nothing connected to the death of a loved one would be taken lightly. I mean, to celebrate with a game on such a memorable day for you? Not sure. I guess it all depends on the individual and how it’s taken.

  11. Baysider says:

I’m with Mal. I listened and understood the force behind her passion. There has NEVER been a mea culpa for the elites of that country carrying out such a crime on ours, complete with public PR like scholarships for their children and other benefits for family members.
