Sunday Faith Post

Please pray for those in Florida affected by Hurricane Ian….. My friends there pulled through well;  If any of you have friends or family there, I hope they fared as well.

What a nightmare to put so many of those towns together again……..but they will.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,    2 Corinthians 1:3

Amen.

Amen and nice post. I’m glad I recovered my WP acct. Feel free to visit my new project (link embedded in my name).

You may recognize the place. I started it years back, you came over and commented, but I ended up putting it on hiatus.

I’m glad you’re still here fighting the good fight. Many of my views have shifted, so I’m not really in alignment with anybody, but I respect well-considered opinions and I love your stepkids’ dispatches from the front lines, despite how stark they are.

SILVERFIDDLE…sorry DISQUS never works for me….I think we’re back in the same grind we found ourselves in a couple of years back 😦 I registered as a guest…tired of being told “This email address is already being used”…WHERE? $@Q#($&@Q#($&@#Q($&

No prob. Disqus. People either love it or hate it. Its the only way to keep trolls from destroying the comment threads if you can’t be monitoring all the time.

Making a Disqus account to comment is simple: https://disqus.com/profile/signup/

I like it because many websites/news, etc like Mediaite use it and you can just jump in and comment.

I got your comment. It looks like all non Disqus comment go into waiting moderation and there’s no way around it. I love your Christopher Hitchens story!

Hitchens was a good man, like his politics or not!

I’d be fine with Disqus but I realized I misspelled an email address and there is NO WAY I can change it. It just keeps asking for a verification email and they’re sending to the misspelled email address. So, I guess Disqus and I are not meant to be 😦
You’d think I could come in new…change my ‘name’, etc but it doesn’t seem to want to…got any suggestions?!!
I don’t blame you for using it, I just can’t get INTO it !!

I had some problems too, until I discovered that you need to hit the “Disqus” icon and log on to discus for it to accept you comment.

I hit that button in the general “comment” section as soon as I get to the page and it brings up my Disqus avatar… and then it understands who I am, and I can begin to comment elsewhere on any thread.

FJ, which is great UNLESS Disqus has a misspelled email address for you…….then you’re OUT. I went on Disqus and saw there’s a place to ‘fix that’ but it takes you to Microsoft or something and I’m not messing with that. …I don’t know enough about the technology and would probably type myself right out of a computer 🙂

    but thanks.

I was especially struck with this passage in Amos from my bible reading this morning.

“I will send a famine on the land—
not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water,
but of hearing the words of the LORD.”

Praying still for Florida, and for this famine in our land. We see his mercy, and thank him for salvation and comfort out of even the worst of situations. (If Manasseh could be saved, ANYONE could.)

SF: thanks. Catching one of those interviews now. But like others noted, I tried posting. I have a Disqus account, my comments went into moderation, then disappeared.

Bill Gates; what a pompous ASS. “it’s too difficult…” For lowly stupid Americans, Billy?

BAYSIDER: A CBSer who I’d told about Prager’s also had another friend tell her about it….they were down there this week and she brought me a croissant, an almond ‘bun’, the most delicious apple/custard tart I’ve ever had, and a dark chocolate bun….absolutely astonishing. EVERY thing…and I’m NOT a big sweet eater!

AMOS…yes, the famine is here…and why I keep praying for God to put His hand BACK on our land…take the famine from the loss of belief from our people.

OMG. I read that the guy who did the bill, Ting from San Francisco, “argued that jaywalking is “arbitrarily enforced” in California and tickets are “disproportionately given to people of color and lower-income individuals who cannot afford tickets that can often total hundreds of dollars.” How do they know that? Show me the studies.

Did you know Newsom also signed a bill blocking use of your “confession” in your rap lyrics against you in court?

This is in contrast to laws in Georgia (where many members of the hip-hop community live). Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis warned gang members and Atlanta-area rappers that she would use their lyrics as evidence. “Admit your crimes over a beat, I’m gonna use it…. You do not get to commit crimes in my county and then decide to brag on it,” she added.

BAYSIDER..fascinating…. Newsom is THE WORST. IMAGINE there are people who’d actually vote for him for president?
MY feeling is it’ll be SO TOUGH to find anything good he’s done for California that he’ll be in a bit of trouble over that alone………. IF IF IF the Republican candidate was smart enough to take him to the cleaners; list upon list of the awful things he’s done…..just this rap lyric thing and the jay walking nuttiness is enough.

Ya, it’s RACIST, as I put in my comment…RACIST. By the way, it can’t be that more minorities actuallY jaywalk, COULD IT? 🙂
