The chief danger that confronts the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost,
Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration,
politics without God, heaven without hell.
William Booth
“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.”
― William Saroyan
The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings. The inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery. -- Winston Churchill
Ignorance is not an opinion, liberals
I believe in Christianity as I believe the sun has risen; not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else. C. S. Lewis
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

The one we really need to get shet of is that 9th-round draft pick warming the seat on the loop shuttle run between The Oval Office and Rehoboth Beach.

Interesting.
Gov. elect Moore said, according to your post, “…there’s a difference of being like me, where I led troops in war…….and a guy with a baseball cap on 1/6 hurting democracy.”
Moore served in the U.S. Army (and Reserve) between 1998 – 2014. Sixteen years. In that time, he was promoted to captain. He has no personal combat awards. He is not entitled to the Combat Infantry Badge. So I’d like to know how he led troops in the war. Being a supply officer in the rear might not qualify as “leading troops in combat,” but I suppose if you stretch it out a bit, he led troops “during a war.” But we’re all good and I’m sure the good people of Maryland deserve his leadership.

He was in the 82nd Airborne, so even if he were a supply officer, he can’t have been too big of a Wus.
I kinda like Wes Moore. I voted for his opponent, but he’s better than the usual Democrat.

FJ…..Interesting to know this “I kinda like Wes Moore. I voted for his opponent, but he’s better than the usual Democrat. ”
Knowing you, it gives me hope. He DID sound okay until that phrase which SO turned me off…….. I get so tired of Dems depending on 1/6 to make themselves look ‘above it all’ from ‘those undemocratic Republicans who killed people and hoped to bring our country down’….!!!
MUSTANG…ya, I’m paraphrasing there but he DEFINITELY the impression he’d been a big leader in his statement, that’s for sure.
I suppose the ‘good people of Maryland’ (and FJ really IS one) must have seen something we don’t see………sadly, UNLIKE FJ, many of them voted FOR him 😦
BOCOPRO “The one we really need to get shet of is that 9th-round draft pick warming the seat on the loop shuttle run between The Oval Office and Rehoboth Beach.” Cracked me up!!
CHUCK!…Lindsey perplexes me. SOmetimes he says what I hope he’ll say, and sometimes I want to reach thru my TV screen and throttle him!
PETER! “No expectations no letdowns.: Sadly, I find myself a Pollyanna lately, expecting Americans to put our country before those who hate it, that being the Democrats.
“How different from MCConnell? Who despises Trump more?” Excellent question.

Well, FJ … as I said, your call. You can do your own research, of course — noting that at this point, it doesn’t matter. He’s the Maryland Man.
Personally, I wouldn’t be drawn to anyone who has as many indications of dishonesty as Wes Moore — such as illegally claiming and receiving tax credits, unpaid back taxes, unpaid utility bills totaling over $21K, lacking transparency in book payments, being caught by CNN as embellishing his childhood, failed to correct journalists when they asserted that he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal in combat, investments in marijuana companies, and his somewhat weird association with the Hindu nationalist group.
I suppose that taken one at a time, these are not a big deal, but collectively, they weigh rather heavily. But maybe this is the new normal in politics (well — perhaps, not so new). Minorities and Democrats get a pass — not so much anyone else. Also, jump school is a 3-week course and you might note that he is not a master parachutist. I’m not trying to nitpick … but I am saying that voters aren’t looking carefully enough at people who say they are one thing but turn out to be something entirely different.
Never said he was a wus.

So now the DOJ is appointing a NEW SPECIAL COUNSEL to get Trump…3 days after he announced, of course. And a month before the Georgia election.
When FOX asked for information from the WH, the message was “The White House is NOT INVOLVED IN THIS SITUATION and we ask that you consult the DoJ.”
AS IF 🙂 HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
“EXTRAORDINARY CIRCUMSTANCES of this case demand a Special Counsel”..
You $(*&@Q#$(*&@Q#($*&@Q(#*&$(@Q*&#$(*#Q&er
“The DoJ has decided that, based on the past president’s candidacy for president, and the sitting president’s desire to also run, we must appoint a special counsel.” Garland said just now.
Wait! I thought the WH isn’t involved in this investigation? 🙂 🙂
“Jack Smith” is who they’ve picked…Garland’s SO SMARMY that he says “…Mr. Smith has watched over cases of violence toward police and civil rights cases”
In other words, you kiss ass Garland, you mention Rightwing and presumably Leftwing cases to show HOW OPEN MINDED THIS SELECTION IS 🙂

Solid Conservative lawyers now saying Jack Smith is a good selection… good reputation, fair…etc.
This will include 1/6, and Mara Lago. Most say there are probably no criminal charges for 1/6….for Trump. But Mara Lago can be dangerous for ‘obstruction’, which might be real on Mr. Trump’s part. Including jail time…
What a HIDEOUS DoJ we have…..Imagine when Obama wanted Garland for Supreme Court Justice and even Conservatives admitted he was pretty fair minded?
WHAT A JOKE.

We seem to be at the point where we say “at least he is only a moderate Democrat, not an extremist” and they say the same about the GOP, leading me to ask who started all the extreme diatribe in the first place? THEY did!
Perhaps we could get along like we use to if we can get rid of the extremists in BOTH parties. Ya think?

MAL..I agree. WHen my lib friend yesterday was so concerned about “conspiracy theories” about Mr. Pelosi and his attacker (“he was gay,” etc.??), She said “I wish people would just be nice and not make up things” and I said “Wow, like they are to Trump?” As she walked to the kitchen………I REALLY hope she heard me!!

Exactly, Z. Recently, after selling and closing one of our rental homes this past Spring, I offered the remaining one to the our Democratic tenants because despite their politics, they are very nice people and have paid promptly every month. Last year, they just qualified for Social Security, but now are talking about getting help from the government as first time home buyers. Where have they been all these years? Earlier this year they bought a new car on payments, a Kea Hybrid, that of course they bought on payments. That alone can hurt them. I told them I never borrowed money to buy a car. In the old days if all I had was $500 in cash, I bought a $500 car. If you borrow to buy a car, you get hit with a double whammy. You pay interest on a depreciating item. NOT smart. I usually bought under wholesale and sold later at or above cost. When figuring that on 2 cars, the net result was almost comparable to having my wife work. Thats why they’re Democrats, right?

MAL, I think about 5% of Americans buy cars with cash……the top elite, rich!!
But good on you! What you say makes perfect sense but people dream of the flashy car, money or no money…and making payments is the typical way to go!!

I always had good cars, Z, including a Challenger R/T convertible, a year old Corvette that I kept for 21 months, then wholesaled it to a Chevy dealer for more than I paid for it. Joni would drive the big 9 passenger station wagons, usually 2 or 3 years old. All good cars, not junk, that I would work on and keep in impeccable shape so they always sold easily.
