Best news I can share is that we’re now at the peak of the Atlantic hurrycane season and haven’t had a storm on the Gulf Coast yet. In fact, we haven’t had a ‘cane here in P’cola since Ivan, 10 years ago (knock wood). Did have that massive flood last year, tho, that nearly wiped me out.

Also, none of our children or grandchildren are deceased, in jail, or addicted to narcotics. We owe no one money, own the house clear, and have retirement incomes with cash reserves in the bank. Wife & I still able to walk, work, drive, and take care of ourselves.

Ain’t ‘zactly news, but it’s purty damned good from this ol’ country boy’s perspective.

    Lt. Cmdr. Wesley Modder Exonerated!

The Pink Mafia was handed a decisive defeat in our ongoing cultural wars. Chaplain has won his battle against the saboteurs in the Navy who purposely tried to scuttle his career for the heinous charge of delivering Biblical counseling to sailors.

This is truly a cause to celebrate!

The best way to celebrate, imho, is to contribute to the Liberty Institute who fought and won this case for him. Send them a thank you note with some money attached so they can continue their great work.

Laughter is the best news, Z – God gave it to us, and we haven’t lost it.
This one from Comedy Plus is worth passing on:

    A Retired Persons Perspective:
    * I’m not saying let’s go kill all the stupid people. I’m just saying let’s remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.
    * I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People move out of the way much faster now.
    * You can tell a lot about a woman’s mood just by her hands. If they are holding a gun, she’s probably pretty upset.
    * Gone are the days when girls cooked like their mothers. Now they drink like their fathers.
    * You know that tingly little feeling you get when you really like someone you’ve just met? That’s common sense leaving your body.
    * I don’t like making plans for the day. Because then the word “premeditated” gets thrown around in the courtroom.
    * I didn’t make it to the gym today. That makes 1,500 days in a row.
    * I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
    * Dear paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers. If you find one, what’s your plan?
    * Everyone has a right to be stupid. Politicians just abuse the privilege.

I feel closer to the Almighty every single day, and I mean this in every possible way you can imagine. I feel blessed by friends that I have had for more than 35 years; equally blessed by friends whom I’ve never met, but who nevertheless enrich my life. They know who they are; one of them runs this blog, another drives a yellow mustang, and then there is my littermate Kid, who is helping me to get rich through his near-genius 503(c) scams. By the way, Kid and I are working on a new project … if an apple a day keeps the doctor away, what will it take to get the government to mind its own business? As soon as we figure this out, we’ll sell it to you.

Silverfiddle…thanks for this fantastic update! This is really good news. And I hope people learned their lesson for even trying to hurt this man for those reasons!

Alec, these are very funny! Thanks a LOT!!!
So many of them are SO GOOOD!

Ray, my something good is that i had friends who’d detour all the way here so we could all get together 🙂 And a friend who’d drive all the way here, hours and hours, to be with me six years ago.

Vrag; How OLD are you? 🙂

Mustang; Funny, I often talk about the ‘friend I’ve never met but is such a good friend’….the friend whose flowers were the first I rec’d when Mr. Z passed.

FRIENDS ARE A VERY VERY GOOD THING, aren’t they, everybody.

Well, nothing spectacular here, but like Bocopro, able to handle the bills and emergencies, immediate family and pets are healthy and happy. More and more it is obvious that if you have your health, you have a lot more than you generally think.
I enjoy my work and have the uncanny ability to completely ignore news and opinion from ‘them’. Friends who know who they are are a big plus, and lastly, Mustang hasn’t told me kiss off yet.

@SF, Thanks for that bit of news. Nice to hear about a win.

Lisa…great price there! Thanks for that good news! “healthy and happy”….great!

I’m off to a new printer on a business idea; Please, someone, if you can just utter a quick prayer that all goes REALLY smoothly and well for me. Thanks!!!

I was heart warming to read. It’s been bad news all about, from dentists, to the heat & humidity, to a summer cold, to Mr. B’s back, to termites. (I think they call that life?) But …. we’ve had 2 lovely walks in high surf at the end of the day this week with a yummy coconut drink. And I’m particularly enjoying a project I’m working on now for a client. Hope to repeat surf tonight if I get back in time.
    Alex, loved the lines, too.
