I wrote this post at 5 pm last night and went to schedule it for today and realized it would be 9/11. After having written this, it gave me a very odd feeling!~ Wow.

A young female chopper pilot who served in Afghanistan, last night on MacCallum’s show, nailed it, in my opinion. “If we’re there another 20 years, nothing will change, we will have spent tons more money and lost more precious lives…that’s all.”
I have NEVER believed in that “If we fight there, we’ll be safer here” idea EVER. Not even after we went in to protest 9/11. NEVER. As if our being there is stopping terror camps in America building up, or what happened by those Muslim brothers in Boston, or …anything?
I’d like you to tell us: DO WE STAY? WHERE? HOW LONG? IN WHAT WAY?

Over the years I’ve written hundreds of pages on this issue. Think I can sum it all up in just a few sentences:
Afghanistan is a wasteland where empires go to die.
We do not understand the Muslim mind. Never will.
They will never like us no matter what we do.
They’ve lived with corruption and oppression for so long that it’s part of their DNA.
Playing GloboCop is a no-win game.
What they do in their land is not our concern.
Sell ’em guns ‘n’ bullets; Deus suos agnoset.

What a dilemma. 18 years ago right now, Islamic terrorists who trained in Afghanistan, were onboard aircraft that would attack our nation.
If our troops leave Afghanistan, Islamic terrorist organizations will return there to plot against us. So, to me, we stay.
Now, do we have to have the level of troops we do now? No. But that would require a peace deal with the Taliban, which is what President Trump was trying to achieve with the cancelled meeting at Camp David, with the Afghan government leadership and the Taliban.
But some faction within the Taliban decided it would be a good idea to kill an American soldier and 12 other innocent people to bolster themselves…. so President Trump took that insult as a message that there will be no peace with them. Rightly, I believe.
I think of the price America has paid in the last 18 years and that price is not just monetary. The loss of freedoms with the Patriot Act, the loss of comfort and a sense of security while traveling by aircraft, the danger we face in public crowds from terrorists who set off bombs or mow people down in trucks…. If we don’t make our presence felt in the place that plotted the attacks on 9/11… we’ll facing the same threats and attacks again.

I have no idea why we went there. Shouild have sent in two teams in towards Tora Bora from both sides and if bin laden and the boys were there, kill em and leave, else just leave. No clue what Bush thought he was doing there. Complete waste of life and limb not to mention everything else.

One convinced a ruthless enemy to stop fighting by bringing down upon him an unimaginable consequence for his actions. So far, all we’ve done is play patty-cake with stupid people. We’ve only tried to win their hearts and minds. To hell with that. If all we’ve done is the best we can do, e.g., measured responses, then we ought to stay home. Muslims are like termites and that’s how we ought to deal with them.

I’m certainly no expert on military matters. But, my personal opinion is that we should bring all our troops home. If people want to help these areas. Fine. Send Missionaries, send food, clothing, etc., not bullets and our manpower. I don’t think any Muslims will be changed otherwise. We’re wasting our time, lives and money. And besides, as Mustang so rightly said above, they are like termites. Either nuke them to oblivion and/or bring all our folks home. Just my 2 cents. 🙂

We have spent too much there. We went off the rails when we began to nation build. Tribal cultures are not compatible with democracy. War lords are in command of their tribes and will never give up power to a central government. We are energy dependent. We should leave and let the tribalists sort themselves out. The Middle East is bent on warring so let them have at it.,Sell weapons to Israel for their protection. Every once in a while go back and bomb the hell out of them just to let them know not to mess with us.A MOAB will get their attention. Let Allah sort them out.

WE HAVE BEEN IN AN UNDECLARED WAR!
We go in and bomb ’em, plain and simple. I know that sounds rash, but there is no other option. What would’ve happened had we try to placate Hitler or Tojo instead? If we ignore them, it will only encourage them to continue. They hate everyone who is not a radical Muslim, including moderate Muslims! There is no negotiating with them. No truce or peace making. They keep chanting “Death to Israel” and “Wipe America off of the earth”. They need to be brought to their knees once and for all. Better yet, totally annihilated as it will only continue in perpetuity. Then perhaps that would discourage more converting to their radical belief.

Yes, we should NOT have had the numbers of troops there we did, we should have BOMBED any area they made trouble for US in,and been done with it.
We are sitting here typing our annoyance…while about 2000 families..parents, spouses and children, are still mourning their loved ones who, in my opinion (although some military I’ve heard would hate me for this) DIED FOR NOTHING.
ya, those are fightin’ words….I get that…but WE NEED TO COME HOME.
PROTECT ISRAEL, like L&OT reminded us, and COME HOME….AND BOMB where needed. As often as needed.

Mal, I agree…NOBODY EVER wants families to suffer….But my feeling about that was how our Left warned us against collateral damage….for years on my blog, my response was “The stock in trade of Muslim terror IS collateral damage ..the more Americans the better….so…………”
Right? I hate it. For us. For innocent Muslims. But, maybe it would make them wake up, have some kind of (honest) reform and STOP KILLING PEOPLE!!

I’d like to see Omar and the other squad members be forced to read the names of all 2,973 persons murdered on 9-11-2001. That would bring a smile.

No, I don’t think so. I know there are Muslims who don’t want us dead…I know good Muslims have been killed fighting for independence from the terror types in Afghanistan, etc. We need THEM to REFORM and kill terrorist Muslims. Which they have.

Yes, Z, there are those Muslims, too. However, like I mentioned once before, when my daughter worked for Washington State, there was a young Muslim guy everybody liked. He got along with everyone, but one day as the two were discussing religion, he shocked her when he said “right now, you and I are friends, but one day I may have to kill you!” That left her speechless!

Mal, I had an Uber driver today…Armenian born and raised mostly in Iran……..I asked him just that question and his response was “They may be nice but you cannot trust a Muslim…..in my whole 20 years in Iran, I learned never to trust a muslim.
