The chief danger that confronts the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost,
Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration,
politics without God, heaven without hell.
William Booth
“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.”
― William Saroyan
The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings. The inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery. -- Winston Churchill
Ignorance is not an opinion, liberals
I believe in Christianity as I believe the sun has risen; not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else. C. S. Lewis
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14

Then he needs to CALL OUT clearly what Democrats are FOR: doing your thinking for you, spending a lot more of your money so you have less of it to clutter up your wallet, and keeping you dependent them and their bureaucratic whims that micromanage your life.

If only a tenth of the huge “Stimulus Package” Obama created when he first took office was used for the infrastructure he mentions, it would all be taken care of. Now, where exactly did that money go again? It wasn’t to back up the banking industry because Bush had already done that. So where exactly did it go again? Does anyone ever remember hearing where, for sure? My guess is he bought the media, and gave “loans” or “grants” to Muslim countries.

Oh! And had he used it for infrastructure, it would’ve created hundreds of thousands of jobs.

His propaganda and rhetoric are shovel ready, just like the manure I used to shovel down on the farm when I was a kid…

‘Shovel ready’ was always a vote buying scheme. Money controls. Our founding fathers were concerned that England would control the colonies through the church – cuz the government paid the pastors. Adams, Jefferson, Henry and Madison shifted to a disestablishmentarian position early on as they saw this danger lurking. So should we.

Great point/question MAL. on 9/30/2008 the national debt was 10 trillion – today 19 trillion and is expected to be 20 trillion by the time was get to tell that — Adios.
(During the previous 8 Bush years the debt went up by 5 trillion)
So, 9-10 trillion plus the collected tax revenue for 8 years. Yes, Where did that money go????!!! No where visible or that can be accounted for.

A little heavy parody for y’all . . . wrote it coupla years ago — still kinda works:
While my Aussie buddy and I strolled through the surprisingly pleasant morning air, some little dude in my head went into the archives and dragged out Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s “Kublai Khan” and dusted it off. http://www.bartleby.com/101/550.html
Half a century ago, anybody in a decent high school or liberal arts college would have had to read and explicate that poem. Basically it’s a lament by a brilliant guy who burnt out his brain on laudanum long before anybody realized how dangerous and addictive opiates stirred into grain alcohol can be. He realizes that his wellspring of creativity has dried up, and he drags the reader along on a fantasy trip through the warped and twisted corridors of his mind as he searches for a place where he might be able to get it to flow freely again.
And being who and what I am, naturally I can’t leave it alone. Once it’s dragged out and put on display in the foyer of my subconscious, I just gotta take it apart and put it back together in my own fashion. Some people might ask “Why?” but I just look at it and say “Nah, that ain’t right. Lemme fix it.”
In Syria did BHO
An end to civil war demand:
Where Blood, the ancient river flowed
Through streets of Muslims’ dark abode
And into nearby lands.
So thrice spake he on world TV
Of red lines for humanity
And thought that once his word had spread
We’d no more witness gas assault
On those who lived in mortal dread
Where jihad made belief a fault.
But up in noisy consternation
From the depths of their downfall
Rose then the Red Bear’s revocation
Of Red lines and bluffs to call.
And like a flounder he was reeled in,
Pulled from waters he had muddied,
Strung upside down by his tail fin,
A fledgling fool Putin had studied.
The fount of mighty words receded
As his blunder he conceded
And to Congress then relinquished
Power fact had much extinguished.
With their ores refining swiftly,
Persians o’er their kouskous chuckled
While Israelis masks donned quickly,
American prestige was buckled.
Saliva gushing from the botox queen
And the Senate’s senile left-wing dean
Could not sustain the war-like chant
When grass roots said, “Oh no you can’t.”
Five years meandering in a smoky daze
Through town and state the shallow river flowed,
Until it reached that red line where it slowed
And quickly disappeared in full disgrace.
‘Twas then iWon heard voices near and far
Saying NOT let slip the dogs of war.
The glory of the chair of power
Resting firmly on the floor,
While ruling from his iv’ry tower
Suddenly down came the door!
And even far left-wing fanatics
Finally did their mathematics.
A virgin in a black burqa
In a vision once I saw:
She was a dark-eyed maid
And on her rababah she played,
Singing of global jihad.
Could she restore inside me
Through pure Qur’anic song,
My brothers all again beside me,
That with chanting loud and long,
I would rebuild that hope and trust
They allowed to slip away,
And start again to tax and spend,
Ride unicorns, eat pita crust,
And play golf every day.
Nay, weave a rope around him thrice!
For he is no good US friend
And will no US laws obey.
For he on pixie dust hath fed
And drunk the smoke of Maui blend.
Got ‘nuther’n on “Teddy Bears’ Picnic” if you’d like.

I don’t know why people think that repairing roads and bridges will create thousands of new, permanent jobs. At the most, the concrete and asphalt businesses will get a boost. Tens of thousands of construction workers will have temporary jobs, Hundreds of connected construction contractors will get rich. Thousands of state, local, and federal bureaucrats will get pay-offs.
Very few permanent jobs will be created. Even though re-doing old infrastructure will help a little in commerce, you are not building infrastructure demanded by NEW businesses. In other words your area repairing roads and bridges that bring trade to old businesses. Nothing new, here.
What we need are new roads and new bridges that can bring new people to new developing areas. How does this happen and who decides? Not the government!
Markets and people decide through their decisions to buy things, and to open businesses in locations where they think they will prosper. We don’t need bridges to nowhere. We need infrastructure where it will do businesses and people some good. The old “build it and they will come” idea is not a good one at all.
All this economic theory says is that government is very bad at making market decisions, and just spending money does not necessarily create jobs. Look at the almost $Trillion that Obama spend on his stimulus. The economy was not stimulated, and the number of jobs created were not worth the effort. The nation would have been better off building a few thousand F-22 fighter aircraft, or maybe giving each unemployed person $100,000. Do the arithmetic.
Plus, what has the government done with all the fuel tax money the nation has been paying for the last fifty years? That money was supposedly earmarked to maintain the roads and bridges. But, NOOO!!! Since they have spent all the highway trust fund money feeding and educating illegal aliens, we are now supposed to be happy paying more taxes to do something that was enshrined in law to be done otherwise.
Thanks for the place to vent.

‘Nuther little poem (rework of “The Village Blacksmith”:
The National Black Mistake
Under a spreading scandal cloud
The Kenyan phony sits;
His lies are big and long and loud;
No budget he submits.
He’ll cast disgrace upon us all
Until he calls it quits.
His hair is kinky, short, and gray,
His face a dirty tan;
His smile is false and pretentious;
He lies whene’er he can,
And thinks a speech can fix it all,
For he has no real plan.
Week in, week out, from prepared lines
We hear his minions crow;
We hear how “green” is good for us
And warming we must slow,
While all the things he recommends
Just cause our debt to grow.
His wife and daughters flit around
Like regal VIPs,
And gala parties are designed
For black celebrities,
While White House tours are suspended
For reg’lar families.
He goes some Sundays to a church
To project his façade
That he is Christian, not Muslim,
Which some consider odd
In light of how he seems to think
That he is really God.
The measure of a man is known
By whom he calls his friends,
And tricks he justifies to bring
About his desired ends.
But Eric, Janet, Rice, and Hill
Are those he most defends?
So spinning, lying, denying
Through second term he’ll go;
Each day with some new scandal
His incompetence will show,
Until he finally becomes
Ex-Precedente BO.
Thanks, thanks to you, our left-wing friends
For what you have taught us!
That half-black rookie senators
Are lousy as PotUS.
And we were correct when we said:
“He’ll be calamitous.”

Bob, Jobs – absolutely agree. If I were to complain about the lack of barry doing nothing, it would be becuase of the example of the Brent Spence bridge across the Ohio River from Ohio into Kentucky. This is one of the infrastructure items that would have been done by now. It’s on I-75, a major interstate used to transport all manner of freight between Southern USA and Canada. It’s a federal concern and should be a federal project but Ohio and Kentucky are left to try to figure out how to pay for it. Good luck. Glad I don’t have to use it for anything.
