Every single time I go from FOX, (which is covering the virus with statistics, positive and inspiring stories, the truth of what’s still needed, the arrival of the navy ships to NYC and California, etc)….to CNN, I think “Let’s see all the NEGATIVES NOW…”
And that is ALL IT IS. Negatives. Every single time. Which is appealing to their viewers because LIBERALS LOVE BEING SAD. This virus thing has really proven what we have all thought.

Since I steadfastly refuse to watch either talking heads or politicians on TV spouting agenda mantras, I’m aware of the issue only because it pervades the blogosphere.
My take on it all is that most of the fraudstream media are in phase IV TDS Syndrome and have willfully and completely abjured all standards and ethics traditionally associated with journalism.
They’ve become unable to ask any question or make any comment which does not criticize, belittle, impugn, or attack Trump.
MSBNC is in the death throes of a fear-porn epidemic and totally non compos mentis; that is, they’d rather see half the country die of contagion and the other half of starvation than for any of DJT’s policies to bear palatable fruit.

Coincidentally on Monday evening I sat with my wife, a political neophyte, and went back and forth between FOX and CNN to illustrate the positive and the negative. Unless one is purposely blind it smacks you in the face. One has only to consider those living on the plantation these past 60 years to know negativity sells especially when it is backed up with cradle to grave entitlements.

As you well know, negativity is the main plank of the Democratic/Communist platform. It isn’t easy to maintain that plank, however. What one has to do is to set in motion a continuing set of crises that lend themselves to one’s own political strengths. As Candace Owen pointed out the other day, which you posted, NY has a medical crisis because NY governor Cuomo closed down sixteen hospitals inside the city of NY. Whether Cuomo is running for president has yet to be announced, but I will say that he’s certainly acting like it.
The other day, I was flipping through channels and came to a news show featuring the UN Secretary General, a fellow from Portugal by the name of Antonio Gutierrez. What he said was that if left untreated, the coronavirus could end up killing millions of people. So, the headline was UN SECRETARY GENERAL PREDICTS MILLIONS WILL DIE WORLDWIDE. What was missing was “if left untreated.” Personally, I think Gutierrez could have signaled the seriousness of his concern without claiming “millions” could die, even if it were true, because it seems to me that most of the world’s governments are responding responsibly to the crisis and there is no good reason to scare the crap out of people —or blow the entire “serious” issue out of proportion. Where was Mr. Gutierrez and Mr. Cuomo when FIFTEEN MILLION people were infected with the seasonal flu virus, of which 683,000 died? By the way, 683,000 deaths due to seasonal flu is the annual average.
The other thing that bothers me is these new reports we keep getting about the number of dead from coronavirus. Because I have no ability to trust anything the government tells me, I did some independent research. Let’s use NYC for an example. We are being told that so far, since January, 1,000 people have died as a result of the coronavirus. That’s 1,000 people over the past 91 days. In that same period of time, 38,220 people have died in NYC from other causes. In other words, .026% of NYC deaths since January 2020 involved the coronavirus. It does appear to lend some perspective as to the nature of the crisis, doesn’t it? Here’s something else: the likelihood that anyone between the ages of 10 and 50 will perish from the coronavirus is .02%. The greatest risk group are those above the age of 60 with risk of death approximating from 3.6% to 15% (80 years of age or older).
Therefore, what is the problem, do you think? It’s an election year and there is nothing else available for Democrats to use against Trump —even though it appears to me that DJT has been on top of this since January 2020. We are not hearing about THAT in the media, however. Of course, not … this is how politics is done in the Democratic Party.

He’s nothing more than a garden variety left wing media hack with a microphone who asks for nothing more than to dance on DJT’s political grave.

All that is said about Cuomo being very true, I still say his diarrhea of the mouth is boring and hard to take. I agree he is setting himself up for nomination, and could be a formidable foe for Trump.
On another note, our local news this a.m. put Clark County (Las Vegas) COVID-19 count at 859 with 27 deaths. What is the count so far where you folks all live?

We never see dead bodies being fork lifted into trucks, like we did last night. We never see depressing information 24/7 on TV news… We don’t see new hospitals being quickly constructed, ships coming in to help.

What I’m looking at: the recovery stats. I’ve yet to find a definition for the term recovery in the Coronavirus context.
You know, if a surgeon gets a patient off the operating table alive, the patient’s death a few moments later don’t affect the surgeon’s survival rates. Neither does the patient’s resulting lifelong disability.

BTW, I was listed as recovered after my kidney surgery — in about 6 weeks. But I still needed Patricia here as my CNA all the way through at least the 6th month. And it was more than a full year later that my kidney pain ceased.

Kid, I mentioned things going south cuz I’d called my mechanic when AAA said they don’t keep batteries for cars as old as mine (1996 BMW)…asked him if he had one and he had to order it and, he said from the noise I described (VERY LOUD TICKING), it was probably not the battery. Well, the AAA guys came, hooked it up and VOILA! WHEW!! Avoided new battery $$$, possible alternator another friend suggested I could need $$$ and I PAID NOTHING!

My car is a HONEY, it has only almost 65,000 miles on it….the only down side is that parts are harder to get, but my kids live in Germany, my stepdaughter worked high up at BMW, and Alex is an Audi expert with great car company ties, so they have told me “We can find ANYTHING you need”, which is very good! THey’d just send it over.

I just got off the phone with a liberal from Bible Study (there aren’t too many but they’re THERE) who said “This virus isn’t GOING AWAY” (same thing my liberal friend upstairs told me just 3 days ago!) What news do they know?
She said “You know, they’ve been warning of a pandemic….we have to know this will be happening a lot in the future” I said, “Considering we haven’t really had anything quite like this since 1917, I’m betting on things calming down……………..and stop watching CNN” (i added the last part REALLY softly and still don’t know if she heard me. Sorry gang,,,, but it often leaves devastating lung damage….. I am with AOW… no one dies in the OR…. it is the long lasting after effects that count….. Anyone who is vented is in for a hellish nightmare,,, so hellish that they have to put people practically in a coma because it is so terrifying. Arms are put in restraints because the terror is so bad. Weaning one off is even more hellish.

I didn’t know she’s not saved. Since I don’t engage with vitriol (my father spoke that way 24/7) I’ll let it go … for now ’cause even I can get riled. Well, she’s on my prayer list now. Z, have you never heard of The Villages in Florida? Folks go around in their golf carts to do shopping, banking, etc. Looks good on film, however the humidity in Florida is unbearable. Also theres the constant worry about sink holes, which can happen anywhere but are mostly in Fla. Add to those things the possibility of hurricanes.

Z, don’t be fooled if it starts shortly after stopping. A weak batter may do that, however the true test is in the a.m. after sitting all night, or even worse, a few days like we’re experiencing now. Most places have a gauge to check amperage. If it reads what your battery is rated, fine, but if lower then it would need to be replaced.

Z, boco and Mal have it covered on The Villages. I’ve not been there but I guess it’s a lot like Sun City northwest of Phoenix. Older folks with golf carts on the streets. What the heck – beats hauling bricks on the top of your head in India.

Kid, I’ve never been to the Villages in Florida either. I’ve seen stuff about them (ads, etc) but never been there. One of our dancers and her husband are from Florida and they both confirm what I said. That whole southeast can get awfully humid during the summer. In 1951 spent 6 months from June to December at Ft. Benning, Ga. which is next door to Florida, and remember 90 degrees with 100% humidity. I’m not kidding. They gave us salt tablets to deal with it.

Mal, Yes, my stepson in Germany says: “The gauge should show around 14 Volt at the battery (Bruno knows how to do that), if it shows under 13 V the alternator or the regulator on it is defect and needs replacement. If the alternator is allright, you won’t get around replacing the battery….”
We’ll see! 🙂 I don’t expect smooth sailing…but it’d be nice. It was SUCH a blessing this happened today because I’d NEVER be able to open the car up and REALLY DRIVE FAST on the freeway at 11 AM ..on ANY day…not even 11 PM, and because of nobody at work, we SAILED!

By the way, Ed, why she posted that at your place is beyond me… I remember a “Conservative Lady” years ago, haven’t seen her for a very long time…….don’t know if this is still her moniker or if she stopped blogging and someone new got it, but she IS conservative and did agree with me.

Also consider 2 benefits of all this press:
1) another attempt to blame Trump and diminish his re-election chances
2) A desperate attempt to revive sagging ad revenues – in the wake of revenues lost forever to the social media outlets. Job, cars and real estate ads were the financial underpinnings of the traditional print media. The move online did not take these revenues with it.

MAL, I was much more comfortable playing golf in long pants in the Phoenix area in 110 degrees than I usually am here in Cincy at anything above 80. Don’t care for humidity.

Z, I have to do the same with Mr. B’s car – just need the jump start first! Imagine – sailing all the way to downtown and back. And I will stop at the Staples at the Grand exit, since the local one closed.
I don’t know how a friend of mine who moved from San Francisco could stand The Villages in Florida. Such a humid area. I’m with Kid on humidity. 105 in Ojai much better than 98 here at the coast. Winter temps too, better drier.

Z, what your step-son was referring to is volts. Yes. Car batteries should read 14 volts, however I was referring to amperage (amps). To check for a weak battery they check the amps, which gives the strength of the current of electricity. They’ll know what to do.
