Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration,
politics without God, heaven without hell.
William Booth“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.”
― William SaroyanThe inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings. The inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery. -- Winston Churchill

I believe in Christianity as I believe the sun has risen; not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else. C. S. Lewis
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Copyright & Fair Use Statement I hereby assert that the purpose of this blog is educational/informative in matters of politics and faith. There is no commercial purpose to this blog. There is no revenue generated from any material posted here. I am not in competition with any news source, including any other on-line journal, and I have no interest in interfering with any person’s ability to earn an income as an author, journalist, photographer, or artist. This website contains some quotations and excerpts from copyrighted material. These uses fall well within the copyright doctrine of “Fair Use.” Section 107 of the United States Code, Title 17, specifies the conditions under which, “the fair use of a copyrighted work . . . for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching . . ., scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.” It provides four considerations for determining fair use: (1) The purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes, (2) The nature of the copyrighted work, (3) The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole, and (4) The effect of the use upon the potential market for, or value of, the copyrighted work. The use on this website of other material involves “criticism, comment, news reporting, scholarship or research” (a) The “purpose and character” of the website is not “commercial.” (b) The overwhelming majority of the material is the author’s own research and work. It is in no way a mere collection of others’ copyrighted works, nor is any material competitive with those sources. (2) The “nature of the copyrighted work” quoted is often “news” or “faith,” categories given lesser protection in fair use cases than works of fiction. (3) Most uses involve excerpts rather than entire works. Because the adverse financial impact on copyright owners is central to the purpose of copyright law, and the analysis of alleged violations, it’s relevant to note that, under factor (4), (a) no one in search of the quoted material would substitute this blog or book for the original source, (b) it is highly unlikely this website (or any material created from it) will ever have more than a de minimis impact on any of the copyright works’ potential market, and (c) to the extent it might do so, it would be far more likely be a positive, rather than a negative, impact (by drawing attention to the work, crediting it, and providing a source where it may be found). Finally, to the extent any copyright owner may wish, consideration will be given to all reasonable requests that copyright material be removed from this website. I will always endeavor to provide proper attribution to the source of another person’s work if I know it. If I do not know the source of incorporated work, I will state “source unknown.” I will happily credit any previously unknown source if their identity is made known to me in “blog comments.” -GeeeZ
If I’m not mistaken, Donald J. Trump turned over his $400,000/annual salary as president to charity. This changes the complexion (somewhat) of “accepting gifts.” And I could be wrong, but I don’t think any other president ever did such a thing. Finally, I think Trump sends his $200,000/annual ‘former president’ stipend to charity, as well. I’m no judge of men … but I do suspect that inside, Trump is a good man.

You may be correct Mustang and one thing that will never be tolerated is a good man hanging out in the swamp anymore than a guy driving a 67’ VW microbus hanging out in a Hells Angel biker bar.

It’s called covering your butt. They keep doing it and getting away with it.
Peter, your comment reminded me of one in the film “Roadhouse” where the old guy Emmet told Dalton (Patrick Swayze):
“Calling me sir is like putting an elevator in an outhouse. Don’t belong”.

MUSTANG…and I’ve heard stories of his slipping quite big cash out of his pocket to people who he’s found out need help.
I, too, believe he is a good man, and I WISH (as I’ve said here frequently) he’d let that SHOW.
He’s now telling America he’ll be arrested Tuesday….WOULD that he’d have left “Protest!” out of his social media message.
By the way…. I don’t understand why paying off Stormy Daniels was problematic… even if he DID (and the checks Cohen has shared make it look BAD)…what man in public life hasn’t? And, if it’s because it blocked the fact that he’d had an affair before the 2016 election, HOW IS THAT DIFFERENT THAN THE MEDIA HIDING THE HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP INFORMATION BEFORE THE ELECTION OF BIDEN… so people wouldn’t know he was a corrupt monster?
PETER…..LOVE THAT analogy 🙂

Off subject, as we know, the banking industry is very shaky right now. If the over publicized bank failures cause a panic, we’re through so let’s hope that doesn’t happen. We went through this in 2008 with FDIC having to pay off several failed banks. The difference is, we’re in so much more debt now. We’re upside down.
I went to close our trust savings account and transfer it to our trust checking account because I remember my father saying if things ever got bad enough, the government might “borrow” money from savings accounts (presumably pay a pittance interest) but leave checking accounts alone as they are for paying bills.
Our bank was closed. It was always open 1/2 day on Saturdays. Even the Sat. hours on the door were eliminated. Plus, they’d recently closed the ATM inside the front doors and said they may even close the one outside, too, leaving only the 2 drive up ATM’s. NOT good!

MAL: I don’t know what the negative about the list was, but FOX showed a bunch of banks this morning , about 10 of them, which had problems and Wells Fargo was on it, which surprised me.
I’d hardly call Wells Fargo a ‘regional bank’….
I wish I knew more about this.
My own bank just got bought by Union Bank….not sure what’s going to happen 😦

Yes, Mal, the 2012 financial crisis led the Cypriot government to confiscate its citizens’ savings to the tune of 6.75 – 9.9% depending on how big the account was. Anybody who gets a social security check on auto deposit has already given access to your account to the government.
There is a strong push now for the CBDC’s. It will be much harder to implement with hundreds of little local and regional banks. But if the feds use the ‘crisis’ (partly of their own creation) to push bank consolidation, it will be much easier with – say – six.
I think the back and forth on the news is designed to keep ALL people engaged in “see, see!”, by giving them a distraction. The power brokers will pick and choose which stories will continue in the ‘news’ to fit the coming narrative. They alternate so one ‘side’ doesn’t get bored and tune out.
Did you know there was a party called something like the 2020 Unity Party in 2020? No? Neither did I until listening to The Dark Horse podcast today. It was a more broad based 3rd party movement, and the Dems feared it would draw away more Dems (they were wrong, according to polls later, slightly more Republicans defected than Democrats). They got YouTube and Facebook pages shut down immediately. One man who had questioned other hot button issues got shut down over his public support of this party. No wonder no one has ever heard of it. That was the point. And the message.
Gotta run. Just before the cancellation of our retreat today, I placed a large order with a butcher in Simi Valley. So I’m headin’ on out there anyway.

Bay, the access by giving your account number is only one way: Deposit. Or auppose to be, but with D.C. anything could happen, for sure. I just learned the FDIC (government) is paying 100% to the depositors of the failed banks, even when its millions of bucks, which is way over the $250,000 insured amount. Thats probably because they’re part of the elite class.

Mal, considering that the SVB was a major Dem donor and donor to their “off book” interests like BLM, it was no surprise. Grrr.
